How do I use this product?

  1. Attach your knife to the correct side of the vise. Pick the side that matches your knife size or whatever feels most comfortable to you.
  2. Slide the sharpening stone into the grindstone holder.
  3. Choose your grit: use 400 grit if the blade is dull and needs serious work, and 1000 grit for polishing or final touch-ups.
  4. Set both the vise and the grindstone on a flat, steady surface.
  5. Bring the grindstone to the blade and move it back and forth smoothly.
  6. Keep going until the edge feels right, usually around 20 passes.
  7. Remove the knife and repeat the process on the other side.
  8. Give the blade a quick inspection to make sure you’re happy with the finish.
